Rosso del Sebino "Maurizio Zanella" - 1997 - Ca del Bosco
The first wine to be signed by author Maurizio Zanella on its label, it is a proud tribute to the passion of the man who gave birth to Ca' del Bosco. This wine, a great Bordeaux blend with an international character, first saw the light of day in 1981, contributing significantly to what has been called the "Italian wine renaissance." Deep and penetrating ruby-garnet red in color, it has obvious purplish highlights. It is an extraordinary wine, rich and complex, powerful but at the same time very elegant. Intense red fruit notes immediately stand out, followed by a subtle herbaceous and floral hint, and then hints of vanilla, roasting, coffee, licorice and graphite emerge, with a delicate hint of mint; all ending with a remarkable olfactory persistence.
