Montrachet - 1999 - Domaine de la Romanee Conti
Montrachet often stands above all other white crus in Burgundy in terms of quality, complexity and longevity. Domaine de la Romanée-Conti's properties consist of three parcels in the Le Montrachet lieu-dit in Chassagne-Montrachet, totaling just 0.68 hectares with vines that are, on average, 50 years old. Of the eight grand cru wines produced by DRC, this has the smallest production and is, therefore, often the rarest bottling. The 1999 is a rich, broad and dense release, at best to be drunk now.
