Lalande-de-Pomerol wines are mainly derived from the Merlot grape variety, although they can also incorporate varieties such as Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec. Pomerol's vineyards are distinguished by their gravelly soils, ideal for growing Merlot, which contributes to the production of Lalande-de-Pomerol's finest wines. The presence of gravelly soils remains a distinctive feature in Pomerol's vineyards, promotes the optimal growth of Merlot and thus contributes to the production of the best Lalande-de-Pomerol wines.
