Crozes Hermitage ”Les Nobles Rives” - 1998 - Cave de Tain L’Hermitage
Crozes Hermitage is the largest vineyard in the northern Rhône Valley. It covers no less than 11 communes located in the Drôme. To the north of the appellation, the vineyards, located on granite slopes benefit from a southern exposure where the mistral blows there regularly. To the south, the soils consist of fluvioglacial alluvium to which are added terraces of rolled Rhône pebbles or loess. This growing area dates back to Roman times. Wine production developed there, in the south of the appellation, during the twentieth century, at the expense of fruit growing. This appellation produces aromatic, fruit-filled wines.
