Chianti Classico Riserva "Drugo" - 2019 - Fattoria Santo Stefano
It comes from the best selection of Sangiovese, Cabernet-Sauvignon and Merlot grapes, from a vineyard located on a hill called "Querceto." The southwest exposure and light ventilation allow the grapes to ripen perfectly, and in October, after careful hand picking, hence the "Cru" character, they are vinified in a 6,000-liter oak barrel at a controlled temperature . In January it is placed in 2,500-liter medium toasted oak barrels, where it matures for another two years; it remains 6 months in the bottle until it is released. The name Drugo derives from a usage still prevalent in Tuscan peasant slang to indicate the strong and courageous, solitary man, thus synonymous with power like the strong and unforgettable personality of this wine.
