Chianti Classico Riserva - 2019 - Tenuta Casenuove
Harvesting is by hand and takes place, depending on the year, between the second week of September and the first decade of October. The grapes are vinified in vitrified cement tanks, with pumping over and crushing throughout. Racking and pressing of the pomace is done by vertical press. This is followed by an aging period of 12 months in cement vats and in large 25 hl Slavonian oak barrels. Finally, the wine refines further in bottle for 18 months.In the glass, the wine is deep ruby red in color with garnet hues. The nose reveals aromas of violets and red and black fruits, raspberry and blackberry above all, with final balsamic notes of licorice and pepper. The sip is full-bodied, with dense, ripe tannins and good persistence.
