Owned by the Gerardin family since the early 20th century, this dessert wine comes from the Monbazillac region of southwest France. Grape varieties and conditions similar to Sauternes are found in Monbazillac, with noble rot developing in late autumn. Old vines over 50 years old are used to produce this golden aromatic dessert wine that shows aromas of smoke botrytis, jam, honey. Good but not very high residual sugar and lively acidity make it a delicious, easy-drinking wine to pair with fruit desserts, dry pastries and blue cheeses.
