Champagne Cuvée Brut "Grande Sendrée" - 2010 - Drappier
Cuvée Grande Sendrée owes its name to a plot of land reduced to ashes following a fire that destroyed the town of Urville in 1838. A transcription error in land registers transformed the word "cendrée" (incinerated) into "sendrée," thus giving the Cuvée its name. On these slightly chalky soils, the Chardonnay expresses all its elegance, while the Pinot Noir, with its robust structure, brings power and vinosity. This Champagne presents a straw yellow color with topaz highlights. Time has contributed to its complexity: hints of hawthorn mingle with acacia honey, beeswax and almond paste. Once oxygenated, further notes of quince and raspberries emerge, followed by bergamot. On the palate, the entry is lively and stimulates the taste buds. Caressing bubbles lead to sensations of strawberry jam and ripe blood orange. This harmony reveals a delicate minerality and a pleasant finish with notes of bitter tangerine.
