Cabernet Sauvignon "Tasca d'Almerita" - 1992 - Tenuta Regaleali
Cabernet Sauvignon-like Chardonnay, a variety not recognized by the regulations at the time-was first planted in Sicily on the Regaleali Estate in 1985. A single vineyard at the top of the San Francesco hill, with southwest exposure, at about 570 meters above sea level, on a medium-textured soil consisting of sand, silt and clay. Aged in new 225-liter Troncais and Allier barriques for 18 months. A powerful and austere wine with a freshness typical of different latitudes.
