Brunello di Montalcino Barbi - 1982 - Fattoria dei Barbi
Fattoria dei Barbi is a Tuscan wine producer based in Montalcino. The estate stretches across Montalcino to Scansano, covering about 80 hectares of vineyards. These are on the south-facing part of the hillside, where the limestone soils provide a good portion for the Sangiovese that is planted. This 1973 Brunellois deep ruby red in color. The nose gives distinct aromas of fruits such as plum and black cherry, enriched by delicate notes reminiscent of almond, green pepper and tobacco. In the mouth it is warm, soft, with tannins well balanced by acidity. Aftertaste of good length with pleasant fruity persistence.
