Bourgueil Vieilles Vignes - 2008 - Domaine Du Petit Souper
Bourgueil is the appellation for red wines from the commune of the same name, and six others surrounding it, in the central Loire Valley wine region of France. The wines are made, usually entirely, from Cabernet Franc. Bourgueil produces mostly red wines (one of the very few Loire appellations to do so) and a small amount of rosé, both of which are characterized by their crisp, refreshing acidity and prominent spicy fruit flavors. Tasting notes for Bourgueil's reds often mention raspberries and pencil shavings.
