Planeta is a well-regarded wine producer based in western Sicily but with vineyards all over the Italian island. Planeta produces a range of high-end wines across the IGT and DOCG levels from select appellations. Planeta has six different wine estates spread across the island, producing wines from local Fiano and Nero d'Avola grapes, as well as international varieties such as Chardonnay, Syrah and Merlot. Menfi Dispensa is to the west is the heart of the family land. It has the largest estate and cellar and is the site of the private residence of the Planeta family. Varieties such as Fiano, Garganega, Chardonnay, Syrah and Nero d'Avola are grown here.
