Gavi di Gavi “Rusca” - 2003 - Tenuta Santa Seraffa
Santa Seraffa is located in the central belt of the Gavi appellation, which includes 11 municipalities in the far southeastern corner of Piedmont, in the province of Alessandria. This belt sees an alternation of marls and sandstones: white and limestone soils of serravallian origin, typical of the area of the municipality of Gavi. The area between Gavi and the Scrivia valley, characterized by forests and waterways, has a microclimate that is generally more humid than the surrounding areas. The mix of soils and the particular pedoclimatic conditions, give wines of distinct freshness, characterized by vibrant acidity and a well-marked minerality. This 2003 Gavi on the nose has hints of lodgepole pine, powder and bay leaves. The palate is warm, citric definitely long and vibrant.
