The Casale dello Sparviero winery was acquired by the Andrighetti family in the 1970s, an entrepreneur from Veneto who sensed its potential for wine production; the winery was passed to his daughter Ada, who completely modernized it in the 1990s by making new acquisitions and replanting in the vineyard. Her son Arrigo took the reins a few years later to lead the winery through the 21st century. The sparrowhawk is a symbol of elegance and strength, and it was easy enough for the estate's name to become a tribute to this wonderful bird of prey. Pure Sangiovese grown in a mixed terroir of clay and sand.
