Chianti Classico - 2017 - Borgo Scopeto
Borgo Scopeto is a farm that covers an area of 503 hectares, located in the Sienese municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga, at an altitude of between 350 and 420 meters, predominantly situated on clayey-marly rocks, affected by arenaceous elements bonded with limestone.
The area of the farm is currently devoted to vineyards for about 70 hectares, olive groves for 50 hectares.
Rural buildings and constructions occupy 6 hectares, while the remaining 350 hectares are forested.
The most interesting part of the village, consisting of stately homes with elegant gardens and numerous buildings formerly used for craft and rural activities, dates back to the Middle Ages, and is rich in architectural and artistic evidence of the various successive eras.
All the buildings that make up the central historic core of the Borgo have been completely restored with careful conservative restoration work reusing period materials conducted by specialists. The set of the most important buildings is intended to house a hotel structure, the Relais, of high quality, inserted into the environmental context without altering its original architectural value and special atmosphere.
