Médoc, located in the renowned Bordeaux wine region, is famous for its Haut-Médoc sub-region, home to some of the world's most prestigious red wines. Characterized by exceptional terroir, the gravelly soil gives the vineyards a unique structure, while the temperate oceanic climate promotes slow ripening of the grapes. Haut-Médoc's red wines are predominantly blends based on Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, exhibiting aromatic complexity and an elegant tannic structure. With notes of black fruits, spice and hints of tobacco, these wines age beautifully, reaching their full maturity after a few years in the bottle.
