Barolo "Silio" DOCG is a fascinating and seductive wine produced by the Rizieri winery. Coming from the single vineyard Silio located in the commune of La Morra, this Barolo stands out for its elegance and complexity. The clayey, low-lime soil, rich in manganese and magnesium, gives the wine a unique minerality. The Nebbiolo grapes, harvested by hand in crates, are vinified in stainless steel tanks with a maceration of about 20 days, followed by aging for 6 months in barriques and an additional 18 months in 25 hl French oak barrels. The result is a wine with a deep garnet red color with purple highlights, with an elegant bouquet that recalls notes of rosehips, berries, nutmeg and a hint of tobacco. On the palate, Barolo "Silio" is complex and persistent, with hints of cinnamon, licorice, dark chocolate and morello cherry, harmonized by fine tannins and a structure that allows it to evolve beautifully even after 20-30 years. It is recommended for pairing with rich dishes such as agnolotti, braised meat, raw meat, aged cheeses and fried egg with White Truffle of Alba. A wine that expresses the excellence of the Langhe and the tradition of Nebbiolo, awarded excellent scores such as 96 points by Decanter.
