"Barolo Riserva 1937 - Clear and limpid red. Dinner at a nearby restaurant offered an unexpected opportunity to taste this wine. At first the nose is not promising, with aromas dominated by smells of old closet and Madeira. On the palate, however, the wine is completely different, showing delicate notes of sweet and fragrant fruit, cloves, cinnamon and herbs, with a personality slightly similar to Chinato. I thought the wine would quickly deteriorate once opened, but instead it seemed to rejuvenate with the passage of time. Totally quirky, unique and unlike any other Barolo I have ever tried, tasting this wine from an impeccably preserved bottle was an unforgettable experience."
