Barbaresco "Asili" - 2021 - Michele Chiarlo
Barbaresco "Asili" is a prestigious wine made from Nebbiolo grapes grown in the Asili vineyard in the commune of Barbaresco. The first vintage was in 1996 and the vineyard covers about 1 hectare on limestone soils with south/southwest exposure at an altitude of 250 meters. Vinification takes place with fermentation on the skins for 17-18 days in oak vats, followed by malolactic fermentation. Aging lasts at least two years, with 18 months in large oak barrels. The nose is elegant, with notes of violets and spices, while the palate is broad, silky and of surprising length.
