Chianti Classico Gran Selezione "Lorenzo" - 2020 - Le Filigare
Le Filigare is a historic hill in the heart of Chianti Classico, located between Siena and Florence, with two hamlets, Le Filigare and Le Macine. The main hamlet, dating back to the 11th century and known as Fiaccole di Sopra, was used for celebrations of the patron saint and hosted Pope Pius IX at the invitation of Grand Duke Leopold of Tuscany. Since 1980, the estate has been owned by the Cassetti Burchi Family, which has transformed it into a prestigious estate with organic production since 2016. Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG Lorenzo 2020 is made from Sangiovese grapes. The soil is schistose, quite clayey and calcareous. The vineyards face southwest, located at an altitude of 450-500 meters above sea level, with a planting density of 5,500 vines per hectare. The vine cultivation system is Guyot and spurred cordon.
