Clasico Malbec - 2000 - Altos Las Hormigas
Altos Las Hormigas is a well-regarded wine estate based in the Lujan de Cuyo sub-region of Mendoza , Argentina. The grapes come from vineyards in Luján de Cuyo (70%) and Uco Valley (30%). 100% Malbec harvested by hand. The wine is then aged for a minimum of 9 months in concrete tanks. No oak aging. This Malbec Classico has a bright ruby red color, enriched by lively purple reflections. The olfactory bouquet is intense, characterized by suggestive notes of red fruit, strawberry and fresh plum. Delicate mineral accents of graphite also emerge on the nose. On the palate, it stands out for its freshness and remarkable ease of drinking, with an impeccable balance between lively acidity and soft tannins. The finish is prolonged in an elegant combination of fruitiness and verticality.
