Whisky is a distillate obtained from the fermentation and subsequent distillation of various cereals, matured in wooden barrels. Some cereals, often barley, are germinated and transformed into malt. The best whiskies in the world are considered to be those from Scotland, America, Ireland and, for some years, Japan.

Whisky is the meditation spirit par excellence, an end-of-day treat to be enjoyed without haste.

It can be made alone or accompanied with appetizers of podolico cheese or with a mature pecorino for a more "powerful" distillate or with a goat toma for something more delicate.

A classic combination is with a high quality dark chocolate.

Of course, you can pair whisky with excellent cigars or with excellent pipe tobacco. Not too fragrant but intense English Mixtures will give you strong emotions for a real end-of-day treat.
