The Casale dello Sparviero farm was acquired by the Andrighetti family in the 70s, a Venetian entrepreneur who understood its potential for wine production, the company passed into the hands of his daughter Ada who completely modernized it in the 90s by making new acquisitions and new replantings in the vineyard. Her son Arrigo took over the reins a few years later to lead the company through the 21st century. The sparrowhawk is a symbol of elegance and strength and it was quite easy for the name of the estate to become a tribute to this wonderful bird of prey. This Gran Selezione is a pure Sangiovese with 18 months in barrique. Paronza is the company's historic vineyard with a clay terroir. An important and austere wine, with great structure and personality. It has a ruby red color with intense garnet reflections; on the nose it opens with hints of cherry and notes of vanilla; on the palate it is powerful, tannic and dry with an aftertaste of blackberries and sweet tobacco.
