Chianti Classico Riserva "Drugo" - 2019 - Santo Stefano Farm
It comes from the best selection of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes, from a vineyard located on a hill called "Querceto". The south-west exposure and the light ventilation allow a perfect maturation of the grapes that in October, after careful hand-picking, hence the "Cru" character, are vinified in a 6,000-liter oak barrel at a controlled temperature. In January it is placed in 2,500-liter medium toasted oak barrels, where it matures for another two years; it remains 6 months in the bottle until it is released for sale. The name Drugo derives from a still prevalent use in Tuscan peasant jargon to indicate the strong and courageous man, solitary, therefore synonymous with power like the strong and unforgettable personality of this wine.
