Barbaresco Special Reserve - 1971 – Bersano
Bersano is a wine producer located in the Piedmont wine region of northwestern Italy. The estate has its origins in Asti and was formed in the early part of the 20th century. Today it produces a range of regional wines, including Barbera d'Asti , Barolo , Barbaresco , Monferrato and Moscato d'Asti. Barolo is a traditional village in Piedmont, in northwest Italy. The surrounding hills have long been famous for producing fragrant, tannic red wines that take their name. These are produced entirely from the Nebbiolo grape. The wine's distinctive features are a "tar and roses" aroma, bright ruby color (fading to garnet over time), firm tannins, high acidity and relatively high alcohol. As the tannins soften over time, complexity manifests with hints of earth, truffle and dark chocolate.
