Azienda Vitivinicola Nervi-Contino, in the heart of the prestigious Gattinara DOCG in northern Piedmont, produces long-lived red wines from the prized Nebbiolo grape, known locally as Spanna. Founded in 1906, it is the oldest winery in the appellation, now owned by Roberto Conterno of the renowned Cantina Giacomo Conterno in Barolo. Its 28 hectares of vineyards, protected from the northerly winds at the foot of Monte Rosa, are carefully cultivated, with all operations performed by hand. Among the parcels, Molsino stands out for its south-facing amphitheatre terrain, producing the acclaimed Vigna Molsino.
