The red Givrys are made from Pinot Noir grapes in the Côte Chalonnaise, in southern Burgundy. The plots are located between 240 and 280 meters above sea level, on clay-limestone soils with a well-defined limestone subsoil. The wine is aged in oak barrels and foudres, giving it a distinct character. Bright purple in color with violet reflections, it presents typical Pinot Noir aromas, such as blackcurrant, black cherry, licorice, spices and leather with age. On the palate, the tannins are present but well balanced. This wine pairs perfectly with pâtés, terrines, roast or sauced meats, game and cheeses.
