Elena Walch is a renowned winemaker from Alto Adige, Italy's northernmost wine region. The estate cultivates 55 hectares of vineyards, including the prestigious Vigna Kastelaz and Vigna Castel Ringberg. The wine portfolio includes local varieties such as Pinot Grigio, Lagrein and Schiava, and German varieties such as Müller-Thurgau and Riesling, as well as Gewürztraminer, Chardonnay and Merlot. Vigna Kastelaz, on south-facing limestone slopes in Tramin, is dedicated to Gewürztraminer and Merlot. Elena Walch's Merlot is distinguished by its lively garnet color and intense aromas of berries, spices and chocolate. On the palate, it offers appealing tannins, a firm structure, body and elegance, culminating in a pleasant softness and savouriness.
