1,5L Barolo “Pernanno” IOWC - 2019 - Cascina Bongiovanni
The hillside where the Nebbiolo vineyards are located, is divided by a gap that from the top of the hill, descends to the valley below, creating two zones. The area to the right of the municipality of Castiglione Falletto, is that of the historic center around the castle, while to the left of the main road leading to Castiglione, is "Pernanno," with southeastern exposures. Annual temperatures, rainfall and other weather conditions, determine the quality of the Barolo produced. This Barolo "Pernanno" has a very deep garnet red color. Its aromas are very intense, in the first years they struggle to express themselves. The structure that stands out is characteristic of very important vintages with very dense tannic texture, it improves further with a few years in the bottle.
