In hillside vineyards in the heart of classic Valpolicella, the grapes for this Amarone are grown on dry terraces (called marogne). Natural drying of the grapes in fruit lofts, vinification and subsequent aging in Slavonian oak barrels give the catechistic spicy aroma, which is rounded out in the mouth with notes of morello cherry and plums.
