Benromach is a family-owned malt whisky distillery located in Speyside, Scotland. Founded in 1898 and reopened in 1998, it is known for its slightly smoky character. It uses local malted barley with a touch of peat and Chapelton spring water. Fermentation takes three to five days, using brewer's and distiller's yeast for added complexity. Distillation takes place in two copper stills, with maturation in Bourbon and Sherry casks.
