Selección Especial - 2001 - Abadia Retuerta
Selección Especial is Abadía Retuerta's first wine, made by selecting and blending the best wines of the vintage from the 54 plots in the winery's vineyard. Made mainly from the native Duero variety, tempranillo, it is complemented with other varieties chosen by tasting. The goal is to balance the particularities of the vintage and preserve the wine's distinctive style. Dark red in color, it presents a clean, attractive nose with aromas of red fruit, currant, raspberry and cherry, accompanied by light herbaceous, mentholated notes and a subtle creamy touch. The palate is soft, refreshing and pleasant, with high-quality, fine, ripe and well-integrated tannins that offer a long, aromatic finish.
