Chianti Classico - 2021 - Lornano
Chianti Classico D.O.C.G. is made from 100% Sangiovese grapes from vineyards with a density of 5,000 vines per hectare, located 300 meters above sea level and facing south-southwest. The vineyards use the spurred cordon system and grow on soils of compact calcareous clay with skeleton of alluvial origin. The grapes are harvested between October 3 and 19, destemmed and vinified with maceration on the skins for 15-18 days at 26°C. After alcoholic and malolactic fermentation, the wine ages 12 months in French oak barrels and six months in bottle. It has a deep ruby red color, notes of ripe red fruit, flowers, spices and a long, lingering finish.
