Barolo "San Giovanni" - 2020 - Gianfranco Alessandria
Today, the winery manages 5.5 hectares of its own and 1.5 hectares under lease of Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto in San Giovanni, in the area of the great Monforte Cru, with southeastern exposure. This location allows the production of wines with great structure, freshness and elegance. The approach is based on natural principles, using only sulfur and verdigris for treatments, and drastically reducing the yield per hectare to improve grape quality. Vinification includes short macerations and aging in French wooden barrels. This wine develops a very intense ruby-purple color that tends to garnet with age. On the nose, it offers hints of ripe fruit and herbaceous notes, enriched by nuances of black fruit. On the palate, it is distinguished by a long and persistent finish, accompanied by good acidity.
