Barbaresco Riserva Speciale - 1971 – Bersano
Bersano is a wine producer located in the Piedmont wine region, in northwestern Italy. The estate originated in Asti and was formed in the early part of the 1900s. Today it produces a range of regional wines, including Barbera d'Asti, Barolo, Barbaresco, Monferrato e Moscato d'Asti. Barolo is a traditional village in Piedmont, in northwestern Italy. The hills of the surrounding area have long been famous for producing the fragrant, tannic red wines that take their name. These are produced entirely from the Nebbiolo grape variety. The wine's hallmarks are a "tar and roses" aroma, bright ruby color (fading to garnet over time), firm tannins, high acidity and relatively high alcohol. As the tannins soften over time, complexity emerges with hints of earth, truffle and dark chocolate.
