Barbaresco "Rabajà Bas" - 2021 - Cascina Luisin
The pure Nebbiolo of Rabaja-Bas is located right next to Cascina Luisin. Although Rabaja-Bas is a northern extension of the renowned Rabaja vineyard, the two parcels are separated by Muncagota and do not touch each other. Rabaja-Bas is less well known because few producers grow their own grapes there; most of the property is owned by Castello di Verduno, which was the only one to put the name Rabaja-Bas on the label. With a relatively cool mesoclimate, the resulting wine is elegant and fresh, with old vines adding intensity of flavor and aroma. It has a bright orange-red color and aromas of camphor, mint, balsamic notes, truffle, roses and dried herbs. It is elegant and light in style, yet structured, ideal with food and with a long aftertaste.
