6x La Pietra IOWC - 2003 - Tenuta del Cabreo
La Pietra, the first white Supertuscan, is made with Chardonnay grapes from the Cabreo Estates in Panzano in Chianti. Created in 1983 by Ambrogio and Giovanni Folonari, it has innovated the Chianti wine scene. Vinified and aged as a great red, it is distinguished by its capacity for long bottle aging. The bouquet is complex, with notes of chamomile, dried tea, honey, sage, medicinal herbs, cedar and lemon peel. In the mouth, the freshness is surprising, with a balance of sweetness and bitterness from the roast, and a mentholated, balsamic finish.
