1,5L Givry "Clos Marceaux" - 1988 - Laborbe Juillot
Givry reds are made from Pinot Noir grapes in the Côte Chalonnaise, south of Burgundy. The plots are located between 240 and 280 meters above sea level, on clay-limestone soils with a well-defined limestone subsoil. Aging takes place in oak barrels and foudre, giving the wine a distinct character. Bright purple in color with violet highlights, it has typical Pinot Noir aromas, such as black currant, black cherry, licorice, spice and leather with aging. On the palate, tannins are present but well balanced. This wine pairs perfectly with pâtés, terrines, roasted meats or meats in sauce, game and cheeses.
