Cannubi is the Grand Cru of Barolo, renowned for its style and elegance. The quality of the grapes from the Cannubi hill derives from the composition of the soil: gray-white clay marls and a high percentage of sand (up to 45 percent), which gives intense aromas of cherry, plum, tobacco, rose and violet. The soil, rich in calcium and magnesium but poor in potassium, gives finesse and elegance to the wine. Ruby garnet red in color with a few orange highlights, the wine has a broad, enveloping bouquet with notes of cherry, plum, tobacco, licorice and cocoa. On the palate it is harmonious, dry, with soft tannins and full-bodied sensations.
