Chianti Classico Riserva "Tenuta Le Macìe Sergioveto" - 2021 - Famiglia Zingarelli
The Classe 1985 wine was created by Italo as a tribute to his son Sergio, who began working in the family business in that year. It takes its name from Sangioveto, an ancient term for Sangiovese, which is the main grape used in its production. After careful selection in the vineyard, the grapes are vinified at a controlled temperature, with post-fermentation maceration on the skins for about 15 days. The wine then matures in 25-35 hectoliter French oak barrels for 15-18 months, followed by at least one year of bottle aging. It has a deep ruby red color tending to garnet with age, aromas of small red fruits and sweet spices, and a structured and balanced flavor.
