Don Tommaso Chianti Classico, "Gran Selezione" starting with the 2010 vintage, enhances the natural potential of the marriage of Sangiovese and Merlot. It is a wine with a contemporary style, but firmly anchored in the terroir. The fruit is deep and complex, the drinkability broad, soft and intense. It is a selection of the estate's best Sangiovese grapes. This Chianti is presented with cruby red color, compact but vivid, expresses on the nose a sinuous, exuberant and sensual character with typical sensations of morello cherry, violet, plum, underbrush and balsamic nuances. It has as strengths on the palate a well-arranged tannic texture, a soft and mouthwatering sip - to which the small balance of Merlot also contributes - and an acidity camouflaged in the fruity and balsamic structure. Slow-release persistence of dark fruity flavors, accompanied by sensations.
