The Chardonnay grape variety was introduced to South Tyrol in 1835 at the initiative of Archduke John of Habsburg and later promoted by the founder of Italy's first technical oenological institute, which encouraged its spread. Initially known as "yellow" Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay was rediscovered in the 1980s by South Tyrolean winemakers. Our grapes come from vineyards located in Magrè, Cortaccia, Salorno and Pochi, where limestone soils rich in pebbles provide ideal growing conditions for this grape variety.
