Syrah Sicilia - 2001 - Baglio Hopps
Company founded two centuries ago and forerunner of modern winemaking in western Sicily. They began producing high quality Marsala from the early 1800s and then expanded their range with indigenous products. This Syrah produced mainly for the Anglo-Saxon market great lover of structured wines with high alcohol content (14.5% vol), the aging involves a one-year passage in barriques and then again still in the bottle trying to soften the alcoholicity due to the heat of the Sicilian land. Baglio Hopps is now one of the most important realities of the island and a stop on many wine tours.
