Barolo "Serralunga d'Alba" - 2020 - Schiavenza
The Schiavenza farm, active since 1956 in Serralunga d'Alba, was founded by brothers Vittorio and Ugo Alessandria. Today it is managed by their son-in-law Luciano Pira, an agronomist and winemaker, with the support of his wife Maura Alessandria and brother-in-law Walter Anselma. The farmstead, once owned by the Opera Pia Barolo, owes its name to the "slave" sharecroppers. The estate covers about ten hectares of vineyards in Serralunga d'Alba and four Piedmontese days in Monforte d'Alba. It produces quality red wines, especially Barolo, from 100% Nebbiolo grapes, with spicy notes and a dry, full flavor.
