Barolo "Nirvasco" - 1996 - Bersano
Barolo D.O.C.G. del Comune di Serralunga d'Alba "Nirvasco" is a wine made from Nebbiolo grapes in the Serralunga d'Alba area. The soil is calcareous-clayey with silty-sandy components. Harvesting is done manually in October. Vinification involves maceration in steel with pumping over and oxygenation to complete alcoholic fermentation, followed by malolactic fermentation on fine lees. Aging lasts at least 36 months in oak barrels and in bottles. With an average alcohol content of 14%, the wine has a garnet-red color with orange hues, intense aromas of spices and ripe fruit, and a rich, lingering taste with soft tannins and hints of leather, licorice, pepper, wilted violet and ripe plum.
