This 2013 Barbaresco Serragrilli DOCG shows an intense garnet color. The nose releases rich hints of jammy red and black fruit, enriched by spicy nuances of white pepper, licorice, coffee and leather, closing with delicate balsamic notes. The palate is warm, full-bodied, with silky tannins and a long, fresh finish. Ideal paired with structured, flavorful dishes, such as a veal tenderloin stew. Produced by the Marchesi di Barolo, this wine ages for one year in Slavonian oak barrels and French oak barriques, then rests in the bottle.
