On Etna, three large elective areas can be considered for the cultivation of vines. The environmental variability is also conditioned by the singular position of Etna: altitude and exposure profoundly influence the slopes, generating unique microclimates for the cultivation of the vine. Vinupetra is a Sicilian dialect word that means "wine produced in a land full of stones." Cultivation is done by hand using natural products. No biotechnologies are used in winemaking.
