Gavi di Gavi “Rusca” - 2003 - Tenuta Santa Seraffa
Santa Seraffa is located in the central strip of the Gavi denomination, which includes 11 municipalities in the extreme south-eastern corner of Piedmont, in the province of Alessandria. This strip sees an alternation of marl and sandstone: white and calcareous soils of Serravallian origin, typical of the area of the Municipality of Gavi. The area between Gavi and the Scrivia valley, characterized by woods and waterways, has a generally more humid microclimate than the surrounding areas. The mix of soils and the particular pedoclimatic conditions give wines of marked freshness, characterized by a vibrant acidity and a well-marked minerality. This 2003 Gavi on the nose has hints of Scots pine, talcum powder and laurel. The taste is warm, citric, decidedly long and vibrant.
