Le Filigare is a historic hill in the heart of Chianti Classico, located between Siena and Florence, with two hamlets: Le Filigare and Le Macine. The main hamlet, dating back to the 11th century and known as Fiaccole di Sopra, was used for the celebrations of the Patron Saint and hosted Pope Pius IX at the invitation of the Grand Duke Leopold of Tuscany. Since 1980, the estate has been owned by the Cassetti Burchi family, who transformed it into a prestigious company with organic production since 2016. The Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG Maria Vittoria 2020 is produced with Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Colorino grapes. The vineyards, facing south-west at 450 m above sea level, are planted with a density of 5,000 plants per hectare and cultivated with Guyot and Spurred Cordon systems. The soil is schistose, clayey and quite calcareous.
