Founded in 1998 by Frank Grace, through the unification of different properties of local farmers, the company takes its name from the owners' surname and from a historic 19th century windmill, located in front of the winery. The company's philosophy is to produce elegant wines that are an expression of the terroir, enhancing the "soul of Chianti Classico." Compared to Chianti Classico, Riserva is a more noble wine, has greater finesse, a prolonged aroma and a clearer taste.
